Education
The Institute of Molecular Biology & Biophysics provides a comprehensive study program to students at all stages of their education (Bachelor, Master, PhD).
We are part of the Bachelor and Master Study programs of the Department of Biology and run our own PhD program within the external pageLife Science Zurich Graduate School (LSZG), the external pagePhD Program Biomolecular Structure and Mechanism.
We offer a range of lecture courses that provide our students with a solid background in the molecular life sciences with a particular emphasis on structural, mechanistic and quantitative aspects of biology. This includes such fundamental disciplines as Molecular Biology, Biochemistry and Structural Biology.
In addition, we offer practical courses hosted in the individual research groups of the Institute, where our students have access to state-of-the art laboratory facilities and enjoy mentoring in small groups with individual training on complex and technically demanding research instrumentation including optical spectroscopic equipment, NMR machines, X-ray diffraction systems and electron microscopes.
